Executive Director's Message
Aloha members and friends,
Hawaii Governor David Ige and Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell held a joint press conference on August 6th to express their deep concern about the surge in new Coronavirus cases in Hawaii and especially on Oahu. As a result, Mayor Caldwell will close all public parks and private tennis facilities on Oahu from August 8th through September 5, 2020. This order does not include the neighbor islands.
Due to the closing of all public parks and private tennis facilities, the USTA Hawaii Pacific Inc. will suspend all USTA tennis programs and events on Oahu during this time period. Tennis programs and events on the neighbor islands will continue as scheduled.
The USTA Hawaii Pacific Inc. is concerned about the health and welfare of our members, tennis players and the community at large. We ask you to cooperate with the Mayor’s order so that we can resume tennis on Oahu in a safe and timely manner.
We will continue to communicate updates as they become available.
I hope you all stay healthy and well.
Aloha~
Ron Romano
