Recap: Play with the HPU Sharks at Wailea Tennis Club

On November 18, Hendrik Bode, Head Men’s and Women’s coach for Hawaii Pacific University worked with Colin Crowe, Director of Tennis at Wailea Tennis Club to bring the HPU Tennis Teams to Wailea Tennis Club to conduct the first “Play with the Sharks” event which included clinics and drills run by the men’s and women’s teams.

Colin : “It was great to see the community come together for a day of tennis with the HPU team and coaching staff. It was a day filled with smiles, laughter, and hard work. Wailea Tennis Club looks forward to providing more opportunities such as this one moving forward”

Hendrik: “We feel very fortunate to have been able to help run this event with joint effort of the USTA Hawaii Pacific Section and the Wailea Tennis Club. More importantly, we’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have shared such a fun day with tons of smiles and laughs with the Maui Tennis Community. Everyone from short and curious to grown and wise showed up and seemed to have enjoyed their day with tons of smiles and laughter! It was definitely a highlight for all of our student-athletes and we’re hopeful something all participants will remember and would love to do again in the future. I know we would.”
